hey guys, was browsing the left 4 dead 2 steam channel and noticed a reference to upcoming dlc, including a community made map by someone who made a highly rated map before. naturally i had to check out his original campaign so downloaded it and gave it a go, and its pretty cool.
its a swamp/forest campaign, so lots of the flooded sugar mill style gameplay, with a set piece on all the stages which work well, and a pretty cool final piece similar in style to the no mercy finale.
i'd say its definitely worth checkin out, although i would advise playin it with others instead of the AI (i used the AI and instantly regretted it when i remembered they insist on melee'ing whatever it is that grabs/pounces/face-humps you instead of using their RANGED weapons like sane people )

incase people havent installed community maps before, just unzip the download and then copy the file that extracts into the following folder (obviously exchange drive letters and Steams install location to ur own setup =D )

(C:\Games)(change as needed) "\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons"

and thats it, file installed, now when running L4D 2 start 'campaign' then 'add-on' and select the map.

If I get time I'll try and get some of the better 3rd party maps onto the games servers for the LAN

Good post chrisakira, I love some of the mod maps on l4d/2

def good to get some interest on some other maps and would def be up for some gaming with them at LlamaLAN.

indeed some of the community maps are awful, but have picked up a handful that are highly rated by users off of www.l4dmaps.com and am workin my way through them tryin to find some good ones. will post any recommendations i have on this topic, see if we can get a collection sorted out sometime in the near future =)

The ravenholm map is quite fun, as are the wolfenstein and doom ones

cool, think iv somehow managed to miss those so will grab em now and give em a try =D

Can't forget the best survival map ever Helm's Deep Reforged or whatever it's named for L4D2.

helms deep reborn. have literally just downloaded that one as its been number one on the top campaign list for the last few weeks. also picked up "We dont go to ravenholm 2" as well as "Cold Storage", although iv yet to try it lol. will let you know if its any good
