Pru.... i done all my Duke of Edinburgh's and now that i don't have to do them i can live in comfort on the weekend trips, air mattress, pop up tents, takeaways, decent meals, no walking lol :P
i hate you! I still have my silver and gold to do, half way throughmy bronze (got 2 sections done, one section about to start, and the physical rec section to work out what im doing)
I do my silver expedition this year, its going to kill me!
I'm curious about this, and I acknowledge that I may not want to know the full answer to this question, but what is this duke of edinburgh that you speaketh of?
The duke of Edinburgh award scheme is "A award scheme" with 4 different sections involved (5 in gold) you work your way through each one (bronze/silver/gold)
the 4 sections are Physical reaction, Skill, Service, expedation
you complete all 4 section you get your reward presneted to you by a important person..... but gold is the "dgos bolloxs of awards" employees take this one seriously, it was used to be used as ucas points aswell.... it is very hard to get, i did it last year and got it now i am doing my "BELA" award and my mate is doing his mountain leader course (i ain't fit enough to do that one)
i think you have to be between 13 and 25, im still 17 so i've got plenty of time to do all the sections. Once i get my expeditions out the way it shouldnt be too hard (although im not so sure about the residential project in the gold)
(edit: my brother is 24 and is still allowed to do it, but this is his last year)
but it got to be finish by 25.... EVERYTHING including all sections, sending paperwork to Windsor so they say you need 2-3 years to do gold if no rushing, i did mine in 1 year soo
