Call of Duty 4
Ok people, what we want to know is, do people want a COD4 tournament for LlamaLAN 16? i know some people enjoyed it last time, despite the server problems!
If you fancy it, let us know by making sure COD4 is in your games list! I'll do my best to have working COD4 servers with promod installed for easy tournament play!

Re: Call of Duty 4
Much as I hate the online scene sometimes, I do actually enjoy playing CoD4 especially at a LAN ... I'm in! Oh and if anyone doesnt already have it then you can pick it up for a tenner on Steam today.
Re: Call of Duty 4
I have it and will play it if it's an official tourny, not my preferred choice, but a game's a game right?

so long as you make patches and stuff readily available, otherwise can be a bit of a let down someone buying it then going oops i'm not the right version.
which case i'd love to join in for cod4

Re: Call of Duty 4
well, the only patches you need are 1.4 and above, all the way up to 1.7. If you are a 1.6 player like myself, and need 1.7 too, then follow these steps:Joosebug wrote:so long as you make patches and stuff readily available, otherwise can be a bit of a let down someone buying it then going oops i'm not the right version.

1. Go to your Activision directory (C:\Program Files\Activision) - for 64 bit's it will be (C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision)
2. Copy your "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" folder, and paste it in the same place.
3. You should now have 2 folers, one called "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" and another called "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare-copy"
4. Rename the copy folder to "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1.7"
5. Download the required patch(es) from here: http://www.cod4central.com/cod4-patch.php (to see what version you're on, open CoD4, and look at the lower right corner for the numbers)
6. Patch Call of Duty 4 to 1.7! (MAKE SURE YOU PATCH THE COD4 IN THE DIRECTORY YOU DUPLICATED ("Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 1.7"), NOT THE ORIGINAL)
Happy Days now just create a shortcut to it, by right clicking the iw3mp.exe icon, then go "Send To>Desktop (create shortcut)"

Holy crap COD4!?! Wow.
Cool cool, something new for me at the LAN I suppose
I'll get it installed and see if my PC is up to running the Quake engine

While I've played though and enjoyed the single-player campains on the later Call of Duty games (4, MW:2, Black Ops), I could never get into the multiplayer for very long. Have only played maybe 15 - 20 matches ever.
So I'm a bit on the fence with this one.
